Chris and Mollie were
just two lone bugs with big dreams when they started making infectious lo-fi
pop songs together. With Chris on guitar and Mollie at the drums, the duo
produced Take to the Skies, a collection of fun,
unexpected pop songs recorded in a few takes. Then in 2007 they released The
Palm Tree, a stranger, more expansive album that online music journal cokemachineglow.com
called "one
of the most interesting records of the year."
The new sound of this record started a metamorphosis: Chris and Mollie became
The Creepy Crawlies, and the band members started multiplying. Now joined by
Kate on keyboard, The Creepy Crawlies are still all about smart, innovative
songwriting powered by skittering danceable beats, but they're hoping to
prove that, um, the meek shall inherit the earth.
